KenyaX emerged from a shared vision to transform career preparation for Kenyan youth. Gary, with his years of experience observing the gap between traditional education and real-world job requirements, developed the innovative concept of Educaship – a holistic approach combining education, career guidance, and hands-on experience. Kevin, an IT Project Manager, Digital Education Champion and a core founder of KenyaX, recognized the potential of this model for Kenya and partnered with Gary to bring this revolutionary idea to life in the country.
Why KenyaX Matters
In today’s rapidly changing job market, many students graduate unprepared for the realities of the workforce. KenyaX addresses this challenge by offering:
1. Practical experience in diverse professional fields
2. Personalized mentorship and guidance
3. Opportunities to build crucial professional networks early
4. A safe space to explore and discover individual strengths and passions
5. Financial support through weekly stipend while you learn, allowing you to focus on your development.
6. Internet expense coverage.
Our Current Impact
KenyaX has the capacity to support 25 students at a time from onboarding to graduation, a journey that spans 3 to 5 months. Througout this period, we provide invaluable experiences that shape their understanding of various career paths. However, we know there are many more young Kenyans who could benefit from this program.

“As a Kenyan IT professional and passionate advocate for digital education, I’ve witnessed firsthand the pressing need for innovative career preparation in our country. The gap between traditional education and the rapidly evolving job market has never been wider.
That’s why I’m thrilled to bring KenyaX to life in collaboration with Gary. KenyaX represents a crucial step forward in empowering our youth with practical skills, mentorship, and real-world experience. This program isn’t just about education; it’s about transforming lives and shaping the future of Kenya’s workforce.”
“For over a decade, I’ve developed ‘work-like practice,’ a method that integrates real-world work experience into education. This approach, central to my work in both for-profit and non-profit sectors, has a profound impact on career choice and readiness. I’m deeply committed to empowering high school students, graduates, and job seekers in Africa, starting with Kenya.
This dedication led to the creation of KenyaX, a transformative platform that provides real-world work experience and stipends to students. I’ve invested my earnings and tips from my work as a driver directly into funding KenyaX, reflecting my unwavering belief in the potential of African youth. However, these funds are limited. To truly make a difference and expand our reach, we need your help. Your support will allow us to accommodate more students and broaden our impact. Together, we can create a brighter future for youth across Africa.”
